The story itself revolves around Sony sending out press-packs, with a "reviewer's guide" on how to review the game. The reaction elicited is either one of uncontrollable laughter, or utter insult. Either way, Sony's continued arrogance is startling. The idea that gamers should need to be given some sort of Prima guidebook just to extract enjoyment out of the game astonishes. How can the general public be expected to understand?
It used to be that one could write off these mistakes as simple PR blunders, from a PR department that had lost its way. As Sony continues down this path, it becomes more and more apparent that the culture of arrogance has infected the entirety of Sony Corporate. The belief that core gamers are not of importance compared to "consumers" is a fallacy; it is core gamers that evangelise video games to their friends. Eventually, even the consumers will be aware of the failures, and then Sony will be in much bigger trouble.
